Q1: What is the Arcadia Festival?
R1: The Festival is for all video game enthusiasts. It is a one-of-a-kind event - a fantasy filled universe. The event is an interactive experience with multimedia projections that stimulates the senses and emotions. The Arcadia Festival brings together under one roof the most important video game editors and developers. It is designed for players of all ages and has multiply game areas. It is a unique environment with an infinite amount of possibilities. Not only can you play and experience the latest video games, the Arcadia Festival also stages an exceptional cultural program that includes top musical bands, DJs and VJs, who are renowned internationally as well as within the video game industry.

Q2: Are there other types of festivals similar to the Montreal Arcadia Festival in Canada?
R2: No, the Montreal Arcadia Festival is the first and one-of-a-kind public event that is dedicated to the video gaming industry in Canada.

Q3: Is the festival only for experienced gamers?
R3: No, the festival is for the general public at large: men, women, adolescents, beginners as well as experienced gamers. The festival is designed for the general public and for industry professionals who are interested in discovering, the latest and ground-breaking gaming technologies.

Q4: Is the festival an activity for the whole family?
R4: Yes, the Arcadia Festival is designed for people of all ages. However, it is strongly recommended that children be accompanied by an adult. There are many educational games and films programmed throughout the event for young children.

Q5: What type of ambiance can we expect at the Uniprix Stadium?
R5: The Uniprix Stadium is completely transformed into a world of technical discovery. You can expect to enter into an electrifying ambiance of gaming innovations, spectacles, and competitions, complimented by non-stop musical activity and visual animations.

Q6: Will it be possible to try the latest games that are not yet on the market?
R6: This year, the Arcadia Festival proudly hosts the latest products such as Assasin's Creed and Mario Galaxy.

Q7: At this year's event will we be able to play the PS3 console?
R7: Yes, Sony will present the product at this year's 3rd edition of the Arcadia Festival.

Q8: Are there any new zones and/or events at this year's festival?
R8: Yes, the "Machinima" will be premiered for the 1st time in Canada; it tags itself as the latest game technology in the art of film making. The Machinima creates film action in a virtual reality through the use of 3D video game animation.

Q9: Will the Arcadia Festival host music concerts again this year?
R9: Yes, the Arcadia Festival will host several new bands. Two electrifying evenings are programmed on Friday and Saturday between 6h00 p.m. and 12h00 a.m.

Q10: I have heard that there will be competitions during the event. Can we register for the competitions in advance?
R10: The Arcadia Festival 2007 competitions are: Canada Cyper Cup, Guitar Hero and Automobile Challenge Course. It is possible to register for the competitions on line at the festival's website at www.festivalarcadia.com.

Q11: Can we register for conferences in advance?
R11: No. Due to the popularity of these conferences it is possible and highly recommended that participants arrive in advance.

Q12: Will there be any DDR competitions at this year's festival?
R12: No.

Q13: Is there a special family price? Student?
R13: There are no family or student prices. Please note, all taxes and handling fees are included in the price of an entrance ticket. A 3-day/evening weekend pass is available at $50. For more information, please consult our ticket price section on the festival's website.

Q14: How do we get to the Uniprix Stadium?
R14: The Uniprix Stadium is located at 285 Fallion St., West, in Montreal; it is situated at the corner of St-Lawrence Blvd. and Faillon St. By bus, you can take the 55, 92, or 193 bus line. Bus schedules and telephone numbers are on the festival's website under "location, tickets, and hours". You can also get to the site by subway; take the blue line until the De Castelnau subway stop.

Q15: Are there any public parking areas near the Uniprix Stadium?
R15: Yes, the cost of a parking space is $10.

Q16: Are photo and video cameras allowed into the Uniprix Stadium?
R16: Photo and video cameras are permitted into the Stadium. However, all bags must be stored at the cloak-check area before entering the exhibition hall (except during evening concerts).

Q17: Is it possible to eat on site?
R17: Yes, a rest area and food concession is reserved for eating on site.

Q18: Why should I attend the Arcadia Festival?
R18: To live and experience the wonders of a multimedia universe. To enjoy the entertainment, play, learn, compete and socialize with other video game enthusiasts.

Q19: How does a business/industry professional register as an exhibitor?

Q20: How does one become a volunteer for the Arcadia Festival?
R20: A form is available in the "Info Festival" section, click on "volunteers", then complete and return the form. We will then contact you and inform you of the necessary information.
